We are on the cusp of one of my favorite holidays of the year, Thanksgiving! I love everything about it; bringing friends and family together to give thanks for our blessings and taking time to prepare, share and enjoy traditional family recipes and a few ‘new’ ones just for fun. It is the kick-off to the holiday season and brings with it a delightful sense of anticipation and a treasure trove of holiday decorations to rediscover and enjoy.
The holidays offer a unique opportunity to make memories with those who mean the most. Last year, David and I had the honor of hosting this festive holiday with his family from North Dakota and Nebraska. Here are some of the highlights.
Lefse Making Lesson with Don and Diane
Lefse is a Norwegian staple and must have for holidays. It is a simple flatbread, sort of like soft tortillas, made mostly out of mashed potatoes, (with a little cream and flour mixed in to form a tender dough). They are usually spread with butter and sugar, or rolled up with jam.
Learn more about this and other Norwegian traditions in my post, “VISITING AN IDEA”.

Wishing You and Yours a Very Happy Thanksgiving!
